Laing O\u2019Rourke<\/a> will begin construction of Everton\u2019s new stadium on 26 July, the first phase of the development will enable works to prepare the Bramley-Moore Dock site for the build<\/h2>\n

Work will include the repair and preservation of the Grade II listed dock wall, stabilising of the hydraulic tower located on the site, the development<\/a> of welfare facilities for Laing O\u2019Rourke construction staff, the preparation for demolition of existing non-listed structures, and raking of the dock floor.<\/p>\n

Pipework will also be installed that will be used for the infilling of the dock.<\/p>\n

Once these works are completed, Laing O\u2019Rourke will begin<\/a> the process of infilling the dock.<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s new stadium will deliver a \u00a31bn boost to the city\u2019s economy and provide up to 15,000 jobs for local people (12,000 during the construction phase).<\/p>\n

It is estimated that it will attract around 1.4m visitors to the city and more than \u00a3255m will be spent through the local supply chains.<\/p>\n

A ‘world class stadium’ for Everton and their fans<\/h3>\n

Paul McNerney, director of UK Building at Laing O\u2019Rourke, said: \u201cWe are excited to have a confirmed start date for the first phase of work on this spectacular project, which will deliver significant benefits for the city and the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will harness our digital engineering expertise, experience of delivering sports stadia and sector-leading manufacturing capabilities, using products made at our two UK factories, to create a world class stadium for Everton and their fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Everton chairman, Bill Kenwright, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to be able to confirm that construction work will commence on our new stadium later this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be a momentous day in the history of the Club and is testament to the ambition and financial commitment of Farhad and the determination and talent of Denise and her executive team at the Club.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike every Evertonian Goodison Park has been a massive part of my life but in moving forward we could not have found a more fitting nor more glorious site for our new stadium \u2013 one which will both honour our history and celebrate our magnificent future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Denise Barrett-Baxendale, chief executive, added: \u201cThis moment will rank as one of the most important in the Club\u2019s history as it symbolises a new era for Evertonians, an era which will see our supporters, their children and their children\u2019s children supporting their team in one of the finest stadiums in world football.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project presents such an exciting future for our club and is a clear demonstration of our owner\u2019s commitment and ambition.<\/p>\n
