{"id":95951,"date":"2021-07-08T10:02:21","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T09:02:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=95951"},"modified":"2021-07-08T10:02:21","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T09:02:21","slug":"build-to-rent-housing-in-sheffield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/build-to-rent-housing-in-sheffield\/95951\/","title":{"rendered":"Work underway on build-to-rent housing in Sheffield"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.winvic.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Winvic<\/a> is developing a new Build-to-Rent (BTR) project on Sylvester Street in Sheffield, it is situated between The Moor shopping centre and the A61 ring road for <a href=\"https:\/\/platform-hq.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PLATFORM_<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/build-to-rent-apartments-sheffield\/90177\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Build-to-Rent development<\/a> includes 335 apartments and features community roof terraces, shared social areas to the ground floor and two commercial spaces totalling 7,650 sq ft. Winvic will construct the seven and fourteen-storey complexes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/light-steel-frame-manufacturers\/78483\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">using a steel frame<\/a> together with car parking and covered cycle storage.<\/p>\n<p>The fa\u00e7ade will be made up of three types of brick-built with projecting piers and header features, ensuring the external aesthetics are in-keeping with the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>The other BTR scheme that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/winvic-ascent-logistics-park\/91546\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Winvic is currently constructing<\/a> for PLATFORM_ is located on Dumballs Road, Cardiff and comprises 206 one-bed and two-bed apartments over two tower blocks.<\/p>\n<p>Works started on site in January 2021 and the steel frames of the north tower \u2013 climbing to eight and 12 storeys \u2013 and the south tower \u2013 reaching eight and nine storeys \u2013 have been erected.<\/p>\n<p>Two commercial spaces totalling 6,500 sq ft will be found on the ground floor as well as 2,100 sq ft shared resident spaces, including a lounge and gym.<\/p>\n<p>A local artist working with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheffield.gov.uk\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sheffield City Council<\/a> will incorporate street furniture and artwork in and around the newly formed cycleway and footpath which runs along with the site adjacent to the Porter Brook;
