{"id":96015,"date":"2021-07-09T09:54:56","date_gmt":"2021-07-09T08:54:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=96015"},"modified":"2021-07-09T09:54:56","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T08:54:56","slug":"kier-early-works-hs2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-early-works-hs2\/96015\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier secures early works contract on HS2&#8217;s phase two"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> has been appointed to deliver highways and utility <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/hs2-funds-phase-two-development\/95437\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">work on Phase 2a<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hs2.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HS2<\/a>, which will take the UK\u2019s new high-speed railway north of the West Midlands<\/h2>\n<p>It has been awarded the first stage of the \u00a350m Enabling Civil Works \u2013 Package 2 (ECW2) programme, which will be awarded in two stages through the government\u2019s existing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crowncommercial.gov.uk\/agreements\/RM6088\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Works and Associated Services<\/a> framework.<\/p>\n<p>The programme includes a range of early works designed to reduce disruption during the main build stage of the project.<\/p>\n<p>It includes major highways works, including the survey, design and construction works for a new bridge on the M6;
