Developer Joseph Homes<\/a> has been given the green light for plans to deliver Albion Waterside, a regeneration scheme which will provide 1,500 new homes in Kent<\/h2>\n

Gravesham Borough Council<\/a> approved plans to deliver Albion Waterside, a landmark regeneration development for Gravesend in Kent.<\/p>\n

Planning committee members unanimously voted in favour to grant planning permission for the development on 21 July.<\/p>\n

The proposals will deliver 1,500 new homes around the canal basin including a mix of affordable housing as well as Later Living and build-to-rent<\/a> properties.<\/p>\n

The currently underutilised brownfield site<\/a> on the south bank of the River Thames will be transformed with over 65% of the site being landscaped open space, including gardens accessible to all.<\/p>\n

The Albion Waterside regeneration will also see an extension of the current popular promenade by 350m of additional riverside walkway.<\/p>\n

The plan will also deliver 4,500 sqm of space for local businesses including shops, restaurants and workspaces, enabling a sustainable community where people and businesses can thrive.<\/p>\n

Joseph Homes\u2019 Live Well\u00ae values will include providing a shuttle bus into the town to reduce car travel, electric car club and charging points and delivering above the requirement of cycle spaces. It will also plant over 200 trees.<\/p>\n

The site was identified and allocated for regeneration as part of the Gravesend Riverside East and Northeast Gravesend Opportunity Area.<\/p>\n
