London South East Colleges<\/a> and L&Q<\/a>\u2019s planning application to deliver a brand-new college campus and 294 new homes have been approved by the Royal Borough of Greenwich<\/a><\/h2>\n

The new campus in Plumstead will provide flexible, inspiring teaching and learning spaces<\/a>, enabling the college to diversify the curriculum and generate new skills and employment opportunities for local people.<\/p>\n

Half of the new homes will be affordable, with a mix of shared ownership<\/a> and affordable rent. Importantly, the scheme will provide 63 three-bed homes for families.<\/p>\n

Construction works are expected to start in early 2022 with the new College opening in 2025 at the same time as the first homes completing.<\/p>\n

Skills and further education for Greenwich<\/h3>\n

Group principal and CEO of London South East Colleges, Dr Sam Parrett CBE, said: \u201cWe have worked extremely hard for several years to get this development right, ensuring it meets the needs of everyone including students, staff, employers and the local community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe passionately believe that young people and adults living and working in Greenwich deserve access to outstanding education and training pathways to unlock their potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know the\u00a0project will make a powerful contribution to job creation within the borough and have a significant impact employment and progression outcomes \u2013 so are absolutely delighted that the planning committee has agreed to let us proceed with the development.<\/p>\n
