{"id":97119,"date":"2021-08-02T10:30:02","date_gmt":"2021-08-02T09:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=97119"},"modified":"2021-08-02T12:55:29","modified_gmt":"2021-08-02T11:55:29","slug":"station-quarter-project-telford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/station-quarter-project-telford\/97119\/","title":{"rendered":"Willmott Dixon wins \u00a334m Station Quarter contract in Telford"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.willmottdixon.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Willmott Dixon<\/a> has been appointed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telford.gov.uk\/site\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Telford &amp; Wrekin Council<\/a> to deliver the first phase of the town\u2019s Station Quarter project, a regeneration project made possible after the council secured \u00a322.3m from the Government\u2019s Towns Fund<\/h2>\n<p>Procured via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pagabo.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pagabo<\/a>\u2019s Major Works Framework, the project brings together Willmott Dixon\u2019s construction and development solutions expertise.<\/p>\n<p>To be situated between town&#8217;s railway station and Telford town centre, the development will include new homes, as well as a digital skills and enterprise hub run by Telford College and the University of Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n<p>The project is the latest in a proud history of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/willmott-dixon-rochdale\/84030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">regeneration schemes for Willmott Dixon<\/a>. In the summer of 2020, the business completed the \u00a320m regeneration of Rochdale Riverside, creating 200,000 sq. ft of retail and leisure space to encourage inward investment to the town.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly in the Autumn of 2020, the business handed over the Llys Cadwyn development in Pontypridd to Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, delivering an innovative business and leisure scheme to replace a derelict 1960\u2019s shopping centre.<\/p>\n<h3>A boost for Telford town centre<\/h3>\n<p>David Atkinson, regional head of land and development for Willmott Dixon, said: \u201cWe are delighted to be supporting Telford &amp; Wrekin Council and the town\u2019s stakeholders in delivering the Station Quarter project.
