Administrators at steelwork contractor Cleveland Bridge<\/a> have confirmed that 53 workers will be made redundant<\/h2>\n

Cleveland Bridge, which was founded 144 years ago, entered into administration in July<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Administrators at FRP<\/a> revealed 53 jobs at Cleveland Bridge had been made redundant, while 25 core staff remain at work to assist the administrator with its duties, in anticipation of restarting production.<\/p>\n

FRP said the roles were being made redundant for “operational and financial” purposes.<\/p>\n

153 staff remain furloughed as part of the Coronavirus Jobs Retention Scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A handful of employees also left their positions voluntarily.<\/p>\n

\u2018Focused on restarting production\u2019<\/h3>\n

Martyn Pullin, partner at FRP, said: \u201cWe remain focused on restarting production to support clients with live project work while pushing forward ongoing talks with interested parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegrettably, a number of roles have been made redundant as we restructure the business.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur team is on site to support impacted staff through this difficult period and assist in making claims through the Redundancy Payments Service.\u201d<\/p>\n

FRP is urgently seeking a buyer to protect as many jobs as possible.<\/p>\n
