Graham<\/a> has secured a contract from Camden Council<\/a> to deliver major works project\u00a0at Blashford Tower on the Chalcots estate<\/a><\/h2>\n

Due to its different structure, a separate two-stage design and build contract has been awarded for Blashford Tower so that work can start on the building sooner than if it was part of the same contract as the other Chalcots buildings.<\/p>\n

In the first stage \u2013 beginning September 2021 \u2013 council officers will work with Graham and technical experts to wrap up the design details and test how the works will be carried out.<\/p>\n

In the second stage of the contract \u2013 from July 2022 to December 2023 \u2013 the contractor will source materials for the works, set up the site and carry out the works, including installing an A1 rated cladding system<\/a>, new windows, curtain wall and the other works needed to deliver the highest standard of safety for residents.<\/p>\n

\u2018An important milestone for Blashford\u2019<\/h3>\n

Councillor Meric Apak, cabinet member for better homes, said: \u201cThis is a significant step forward in delivering a new standard of resident safety<\/a> for the Chalcots and I am pleased that we have reached this important milestone for Blashford with the appointment of Graham.<\/p>\n

\u201cI share the disappointment that residents have felt about delays and so I know that they too will be pleased of this appointment and to see works getting underway.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to thank residents for the vital role they have had in this appointment including the Blashford TRA and resident procurement panel, who have given up their own time to ensure residents\u2019 voices have been heard throughout this process, and I now look forward to a shared resident-focused approach as we move forward with this project.\u201d<\/p>\n
