Infrastructure<\/a>, a part of M Group Services, has agreed a three-year contract extension to provide maintenance services for highway infrastructure around Hinkley Point C power station in Somerset<\/h2>\n<p>The contract extension is the first win for Milestone Infrastructure since it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/m-group-skanska-infrastructure\/92865\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acquired by M Group Services<\/a> on 1 May this year.<\/p>\n<p>The contract was originally due to end in August 2021 and will now be extended for a further three years by agreement between EDF and Milestone Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The contract is delivered by the Somerset Infrastructure Alliance (SIA) and combined with alliance partners, consists of a team of 85 people.<\/p>\n<h3>The services provided include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Minor infrastructure works including surfacing, drainage, fencing and kerbing<\/li>\n<li>Installing and maintaining around 4km of specialist walkway systems and 200 scaffold structures for managed walkways and access routes<\/li>\n<li>Creating and managing land and green spaces at the site<\/li>\n<li>Police accredited abnormal and incidental loads escorting service from Combwich Wharf to the main <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/second-lift-at-hinkley-point-c\/92835\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hinkley Point C<\/a> site<\/li>\n<li>Litter picking, cleansing, road sweeping and safety defects repairs to the main Hinkley Point C site and associated developments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the core service provision, the Hinkley Point C contract facilitates the direct award of scheme work at both the main Hinkley Point C site and in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018The first choice for maintaining critical infrastructure\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Adrian Cooke, managing director of Milestone Infrastructure, said: \u201cI am delighted to announce the extension of the Hinkley Point C contract for another
