the shortlist of bidders for the \u00a3370m contract to deliver the Interchange Station in Solihull<\/h2>\n<p>The winner of the Interchange Station contract will develop the detailed design of the station before construction begins.<\/p>\n<p>The contract is set to support 1,000 jobs, creating a major economic boost for people and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/hs2-jobs-boost\/98301\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">businesses in the Midlands<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>The following organisations will be invited to tender:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.laingorourke.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laing O\u2019Rourke Construction Limited<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skanska.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Skanska Construction UK Limited<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unityjv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Unity<\/a> \u2013 a Joint Venture between Sir Robert McAlpine and VolkerFitzpatrick, supported by a subcontractor, WSP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u2018Building a world-class, eco-friendly station\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>HS2\u2019s procurement and supply chain director, Andrew Cubitt, said: \u201cCongratulations to the organisations who have been shortlisted for this significant HS2 contract, which will not only boost jobs in the Midlands, but will open up fantastic supply chain opportunities for businesses right across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe benefits go even further, with the wider opportunities for commercial development around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/hs2-interchange-station\/94431\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Interchange station<\/a> set to drive local investment and regeneration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HS2\u2019s stations director Matthew Botelle, added: \u201cThis is a major milestone in the delivery of our HS2 stations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to working with the winning bidder on our award-winning designs, to build a world-class, eco-friendly station that will play a major role in helping us deliver Britain\u2019s new low-carbon railway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Solihull Interchange Station is the first railway station globally to achieve the BREEAM \u2018Outstanding\u2019 certification at the design stage, putting it in the top 1% of buildings in the UK for eco-friendly credentials.<\/p>\n<p>The contract is set to be awarded in
