{"id":98811,"date":"2021-09-07T11:33:05","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T10:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=98811"},"modified":"2021-09-07T11:33:05","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T10:33:05","slug":"land-disposal-approach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/land-disposal-approach\/98811\/","title":{"rendered":"Homes England launches new land disposal approach\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Housebuilders of all sizes will find it easier than ever to access <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/homes-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homes England<\/a> land, with the launch of the new delivery partner dynamic purchasing system (DPS)<\/h2>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/purchasing-system\/93772\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new system<\/a> replaces the Delivery Partner Panel 3 (DPP3), transforming the way Homes England procures housebuilders and disposes of land.<\/p>\n<p>Switching to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/homes-england-dps\/86439\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dynamic purchasing system<\/a> means that housebuilders can now apply to join the agency\u2019s list of preferred developers at any time, rather than having to wait until the list is renewed once every four years.<\/p>\n<p>This is the biggest DPS of its kind, and, valued at \u00a320bn, is Homes England\u2019s largest procurement exercise to date.<\/p>\n<p>Local authorities and housing associations can also rely on the DPS as a procurement-compliant solution for finding housebuilders, making it easier for them to build homes on the land they own.<\/p>\n<p>Initial applications opened earlier this year, and 66 housebuilders have now been appointed to the DPS, of which 24 are SMEs.<\/p>\n<p>Applications to join are now open on an ongoing basis, and housebuilders are encouraged to apply as and when they see sites of interest on <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/d33eab0621814ab194c936aba2d5d1fc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homes England\u2019s\u00a0Land Hub<\/a>, the agency\u2019s interactive tool used to\u00a0advertise\u00a0sites it is bringing to market.<\/p>\n<h3>A significant step forward for housebuilders<\/h3>\n<p>Stephen Kinsella, chief land and development officer at Homes England, said: \u201cThis marks a significant step forward in the way we work with developers to build homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe flexibility of the DPS means that housebuilders can apply to join when it suits them, or when they see a relevant site on our Land Hub.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve also simplified the application process, so whether you\u2019re a large, nationwide housebuilder, or a small local developer, it will be easier for you to access land you want to build on.
