{"id":98826,"date":"2021-09-07T14:14:51","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T13:14:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=98826"},"modified":"2021-09-07T14:14:51","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T13:14:51","slug":"low-carbon-liverpool-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/low-carbon-liverpool-scheme\/98826\/","title":{"rendered":"EQUANS secures \u00a331m low carbon Liverpool scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.engie.co.uk\/equans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EQUANS<\/a> has been appointed to a \u00a331m contract to deliver a 10-storey, low carbon development in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitliverpool.com\/information\/product-catch-all\/liverpool-city-centre-p324571\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liverpool City Centre<\/a> on behalf of Home Group<\/h2>\n<p>Located on the site of the former TJ Hughes department store, EQUANS will construct 258 sustainable apartments and a ground floor retail and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/i9-development-wolverhampton\/97435\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">commercial space<\/a>. The scheme will comprise of 144 one-bedroom properties, 99 two-bedroom and 15 studio apartments \u2013 all available for private rent.<\/p>\n<p>EQUANS has worked alongside <a href=\"http:\/\/uklandandproperty.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UK Land &amp; Property<\/a> to assist with the specification and build feasibility, through a collaborative process with the success of the project at its core.<\/p>\n<p>All units are designed to achieve a minimum Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of B, utilising a full sustainability strategy, which includes a low carbon electrical solution with supporting energy-efficiency features.<\/p>\n<p>This provides the end-user with reduced operating costs throughout the lifetime of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Work is due to begin on the scheme in late 2021.<\/p>\n<h3>Increasing efficiency and viability<\/h3>\n<p>Tim Wood, regional managing director at EQUANS UK &amp; Ireland (North West), said: \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased to be undertaking this exciting project on behalf of UK Land &amp; Property and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homegroup.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Home Group Developments Ltd<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been working on the project for around 18 months with the various stakeholders, and have integrated ourselves into the client\u2019s team, enabling us to increase the overall capacity of the building, while also increasing the efficiency and viability of the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHome Group is a long-standing partner of EQUANS and it\u2019s been great to bring our expertise in delivering net zero carbon solutions to the table.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simon Parker, managing director at UK Land &amp; Property, added: \u201cEQUANS has been extremely proactive in bringing this project forward.
