The City of London Corporation<\/a>\u2019s planning and transportation committee has given the go-ahead on two office schemes for a site on Fetter Lane<\/h2>\n

Developer BREO Hundred has been granted planning for both development options for a new 13-storey office block<\/a> on the site of the White Swan public house at 100 Fetter Lane.<\/p>\n

The schemes have been designed by Fletcher Priest Architects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Option A will see the current White Swan public house be relocated and reimagined, whereas Option B would see the existing pub retained with an additional commercial space provided.<\/p>\n

Both development options offer increased urban greening<\/a> with a number of roof terraces provided for office occupiers.<\/p>\n

There will also be significant public realm benefits including a new pedestrian route between Mac\u2019s Place and Breams Buildings.<\/p>\n

Active travel is promoted by the schemes with 204 long stay and 28 short stay cycle parks provided.<\/p>\n

\u2018The dual schemes represent ongoing developer confidence\u2019<\/h3>\n

Chair of the planning and transportation committee at the City of London Corporation, Alastair Moss, said: \u201cThe dual schemes for the Fetter Lane site represent strong ongoing developer confidence in the future of the city as a leading location in which to both do business and to spend time with friends, family and colleagues.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith improvements to the public realm, the retention of the hospitality provision and a commitment to high-quality office space<\/a>, the development is in line with our vision for the City\u2019s recovery from the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe focus on active travel, new pedestrian routes and urban greening elements will provide benefits for both office occupiers and the wider local community by improving visual amenity, well-being and diversity.\u201d<\/p>\n

As both schemes were approved by the City Corporation\u2019s planning committee, the applicants now have optionality on which will ultimately be constructed.<\/p>\n
