A.\u015e &amp; Gulermak Sp z o.o.<\/li>\n<li>VINCI Construction UK Limited (t\/a Taylor Woodrow) &amp; Keltbray Limited<\/li>\n<li>VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd &amp; VolkerRail Ltd<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The contract \u2013 worth an estimated \u00a3275m \u2013 will see the winning bidder work with HS2 Ltd to transform the 30-hectare brownfield site into the nerve centre of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/tag\/hs2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HS2 network<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Washwood Heath train depot and network control centre will create around 500 long-term jobs in the area.<\/p>\n<p>HS2\u2019s fleet of high-speed trains will be serviced and maintained, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from the Washwood Heath site.<\/p>\n<p>The Washwood Heath depot will include a rolling stock maintenance building, carriage wash, automatic vehicle inspection building and 14 sidings where trains can be stored overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the same site will be the network integrated control centre, the centre of the network\u2019s signalling and control systems as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/future-of-commercial-buildings\/96748\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">office buildings<\/a> for cleaners and drivers.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018A major boost for the local community\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>HS2 Ltd\u2019s procurement and supply chain director, Andrew Cubitt, said: \u201cHS2 will transform rail travel across the UK \u2013 as a brand new North-South railway offering passengers fast, reliable, low carbon journeys between many of Britain\u2019s largest cities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWashwood Heath will be at the heart of the operation \u2013 servicing and maintaining the trains as well as controlling the operations.
