Eddington<\/strong><\/a>, Cambridge (Stanton Williams): a fresh take on communal city-living with loose, interconnected courtyards<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.architecture.com\/awards-and-competitions-landing-page\/awards\/riba-regional-awards\/riba-london-award-winners\/2021\/kingston-university-london-town-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kingston University London \u2013 Town House<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(Grafton Architects): a new student hub comprising dynamic study, performance and social spaces in Kingston\u2019s town centre<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.architecture.com\/awards-and-competitions-landing-page\/awards\/riba-regional-awards\/riba-south-west-award-winners\/2021\/tintagel-castle-footbridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tintagel Castle Footbridge<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for English Heritage, Cornwall (Ney &amp; Partners and William Matthews Associates): a spectacular bridge along the rugged Cornish coast, linking to a medieval castle<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.architecture.com\/awards-and-competitions-landing-page\/awards\/riba-regional-awards\/riba-north-west-award-winners\/2021\/windermere-jetty-museum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Windermere Jetty Museum<\/strong><\/a>, Cumbria (Carmody Groarke): a confident cluster of shed-like buildings framing views of Lake Windermere \u2013 dedicated to telling the stories of boats and steam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u2018The heart of exceptional architecture\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>RIBA president\u00a0Simon Allford,\u00a0said: \u201cThe 2021 RIBA Stirling Prize shortlist demonstrates the innovation and ambition that lies at the heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/vectorworks-bim-workflow\/95401\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">exceptional architecture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a busy city mosque in Cambridge to a remote coastal bridge in Cornwall, the six projects vary tremendously in their location and use \u2013 but they are united in their ingenuity and creativity, their consideration of their local environment and historical context, and their use of high-quality materials.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In their architects\u2019 attention to detail, and their clients\u2019 tenacity and commitment, these six projects set themselves apart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we navigate major global challenges, from a global pandemic to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/carbon-emissions\/76540\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">climate emergency<\/a>, this shortlist demonstrates the critical role that UK architects play in creating thoughtful and sustainable places and spaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the holistic sustainability of the Windermere Jetty Museum to the creation of a new urban community in Cambridge;
