{"id":99838,"date":"2021-09-30T11:37:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T10:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=99838"},"modified":"2021-09-30T11:37:52","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T10:37:52","slug":"carbon-reduction-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/carbon-reduction-strategy\/99838\/","title":{"rendered":"VolkerWessels unveils ambitious carbon reduction strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.volkerfitzpatrick.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VolkerWessels UK<\/a> has published its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.volkerfitzpatrick.co.uk\/dynamics\/modules\/SFIL0200\/view.php?fil_Id=8565\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carbon Reduction Strategy<\/a>, setting out its target of being net zero by 2035<\/h2>\n<p>To support its strategy, VolkerWessels UK is a signatory of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sciencebasedtargets.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science Based Targets Initiative<\/a> \u2018Business Ambition to 1.5\u00b0C\u2019, confirming that the group has committed to setting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/mace-net-zero-carbon\/87281\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">science-based target<\/a> that is in line with a 1.5\u00b0C future.<\/p>\n<p>The group will achieve this target primarily through ambitious carbon reduction, and secondly through robust and credible, gold standard offsets for its unavoidable emissions.
