Get the Job Done Right with AlgoClear

AlgoClear® Pro Softwash is a non-aggressive high purity biocide suitable for cleaning walls and roofs. Specialised equipment is utilised to deliver it effectively and safely on the material to be cleaned. It has been adapted to suit weather conditions prevailing in the British Isles and Ireland.

Cleaning Render

In the past 3 decades or so self finished renders became popular among architects. There are good reasons for this, both architectural and practical. For the designer, new finishes difficult to obtain with paint were offered: Smooth, textured, with mica sparkles or colour pebbles. They are low maintenance too: Every now and again cleaned, but never painted again. On site, no more curing time before finishing the building: It suits modern building constraints.

However the introduction of wall insulation has reduced the cleaning periodicity. Broadly, less heat transfer through the wall means a moister render and more algal growth. Published studies show that a temperature decrease of 2 degrees Kelvin leads to increasing the relative humidity of the render by approximately 10%. The position of the insulation within the wall is also instrumental in that if will affect the thermal inertia of the outer leaf, and it’s behaviour to diurnal cycles.

Architecture is also responsible: Flush, crisp line facades without shadow gaps at parapet and sills will inevitably lead to algal and fungal disfiguration in a wet climate. Learn More

Cleaning ground surfaces

Algoclear® Pro Softwash is used for the maintenance of all ground surfaces, notably tarmac, MUGA, artificial grass and sports surfaces. Learn More

Cleaning roofs

In the fullness of time roof tiles are colonised by moss, lichen and a host of other species. It is deleterious to the material and appears poorly maintained. The mix of species is called “biofilm”.

After the treatment, the dead biofilm slowly disperses revealing the original appearance of the tiles. The self cleansing can take between a few weeks and a few months depending on the exposure and porosity of the roofing material. Learn More
