Low Energy Know How Swansea

Brought to you by The Zero Carbon Hub, in collaboration with Saint-Gobain and SPECIFIC. During this event you will be presented with the most recent information on the Zero Carbon journey and definition, plus the latest on both the Performance Gap project and the cost of meeting the Zero Carbon Standard.
This event will also provide delegates with the practical knowledge to meet regulations as Saint-Gobain will be presenting information on a number of product solutions designed to meet the Zero Carbon target.In addition SPECIFIC will also be presenting the latest on their research into low carbon electricity and heat generation and storage, and also invite you to join them after the days presentations for an optional tour of the facility itself.

Following on from the first low carbon event, this seminar will present the most recent information on the Zero Carbon journey and definition, as well as the latest political insight. It will update on both the Performance Gap and ‘Builders Book’ practical guidance projects, as well as the first look at the outcomes from the Hub’s much anticipated Overhearing in Homes report. In addition the event will host the following workshops:
Low Carbon Homes – Ahead of Schedule
Private, national Irish volume housebuilder Cosgrove Homes are building to low carbon standards ahead of regulation – why is this, and what are the challenges?
Space Hus – 5 months on
If you came to the first low carbon event, you’ll remember the presentation about the Space Hus low carbon development in Blyth. The first tenants moved into their new homes in January 2015; find out what has happened now that the concept has become an occupied terrace.
‘Deep Retrofit’
The Centre for Refurbishment Excellence and Sustainable Homes will present on retrofitting existing housing stock, the other area where real carbon savings will come from. They’ll outline the scale and depth of the challenge, but will also look at how you can build your capability.
