BIM veterans David Philp and Simon Rawlinson, have been confirmed to once again Chair the two-day BIM Show Live 2018 event taking place at Newcastle’s Boiler Shop venue

BIM Show Live 2018 have confirmed that David Philp will Chair day one, and Simon Rawlinson will Chair day two of one of the construction industry’s most anticipated event of the BIM calendar.

The BIM Show Live two-day event has become synonymous with disruptive thinking; asking the global audience of construction professionals to abandon their comfort zone and explore the digital construction trends of tomorrow.

This technology-led event is one of the most trusted platforms for learning, knowledge sharing and industry insight for all things digital construction based on its four content streams: Next Generation, Data, Strategy and Stories.

Since 2011, BIM Show Live has examined emerging technologies and how these can benefit the construction industry, and 2018 will be no different where it will explore developments over the past 12 months and look forward to emerging trends which will drive and secure the continual digitisation of the construction industry and a Digital Built Britain.

David Philp

David Philp, Global BIM/IM Consultancy Director at AECOM and Chair of the Scottish BIM Delivery Group will Chair day one after presenting his thoughts on the state of the industry.

Commenting on BIM Show Live 2018 David said:

Simon Rawlinson, Head of Strategic Research and Insight at Arcadis and member of the Construction Leadership Council will Chair day two.

Simon added:

“Last year’s BIM Show Live was an inspiring event, full of future-thinkers and passion for our industry’s growth, so I’m keen to be a part of that again.

“As we move on with a greater understanding of what innovation can achieve, it’s important that we have this content-driven event where professionals can share their knowledge and shape the industry’s change agenda.”

For 2018, BIM Show Live will once again be staged in Newcastle’s Boiler Shop, Stephenson’s Quarter – on Wednesday 28 February and Thursday 1 March, with the new BIM Awards taking place on the evening of Tuesday 27 February.

Another new element for 2018 will be the ‘Inspiration Day’. This unique event will take place on the morning of Tuesday 27 February at the Boiler Shop and aims to demonstrate, with the help of colleges and universities in the North East, the opportunities available in the built environment sector to school pupils.

This event will inspire the younger generation in the area to view the industry in a whole new light.
