digital construction week, DCW, built environment

Join us from 24-25 November for Europe’s leading innovation and technology event for the built environment, live and in-person at ExCeL London

Wednesday 24 November marks the return of Digital Construction Week (DCW) to ExCeL London. The two-day event is a must-attend for anyone in the architecture, engineering, construction and operations industry who wants to learn how to use technology to build smarter.

With more than 150 companies showcasing the latest tech, tools and solutions for the built environment, plus a free-to-attend education programme featuring 250 speakers, it’s set to be a busy two days.

Not convinced yet? Here’s five reasons why you should attend DCW this November.

1. Learn from industry experts

The education programme at DCW is packed with 120-plus hours of free-to-attend content delivered by expert speakers from across the built environment. The show features nine different theatres that focus on some of the key areas shaping digital construction including BIM, geospatial, innovation, visualisation, digital transformation and more.

This year also sees the launch of a brand new theatre at the show – the People & Change Theatre – which focuses on the human side of business transformation. Sessions will cover topics including behavioural change, how to embrace new ways of working, using tech to engage and communicate with staff, strategies for inclusivity, diversity, collaboration and wellbeing in the workplace.

2. Discover the latest innovations

At DCW, the extensive exhibitor list features many of the biggest names and newest disruptors in the industry, including 3D Repo, Archdesk, Autodesk, Bentley Systems, Centre for Digital Built Britain, Construction Innovation Hub, Digital Construction Works, ESRI, Procore, Revizto and Skanska – to name just a few.

With so many influential brands and industry innovators in one place, DCW is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to get the scoop on the most recent developments shaking up the built environment. Visit the stands to get a first look at the latest launches, get up close with emerging tech (think robotics, VR/AR headsets, 3D printers and scanners, UAVs and much more) and stay informed about the latest trends.

And it’s not just in the aisles that you’ll find exciting new products on show. The Tech Theatre at DCW features quick-fire sessions from exhibitors and sponsors that demonstrate the most up-to-date technologies and innovations. Drop by to watch live demos and hear about new product launches from a host of exciting speakers.

3. Grow your network

It’s not all just about shiny tech at DCW. The people you’ll meet are just as important. Nothing beats making real life connections, so it’s great news that DCW will bring the digital construction community together in-person again for the first time in two years. Don’t miss out on the industry’s first live event since the pandemic put a stop to us getting together at the show last year.

With around 6,000 visitors expected to flock to DCW, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to connect with people focused on delivering innovation and technology for the built environment.

You can also mix with like-minded professionals at a range of networking events on offer, such as a drinks reception on Wednesday evening with drinks served from various hubs around the show. Plus, the addition of new breakout spaces on the show floor this year means you’ll have an opportunity to take some time out from the busy schedule during the day to sit and chat with the people you’ve met.

4. Boost your BIM knowledge

If you want to get to grips with all things Building Information Modelling (BIM) then DCW is the perfect place to go. The show features not just one, but two theatres focused on BIM – the BIM Village and BIM Workshops. The aim, alongside sponsor the UK BIM Framework and partner the UK BIM Alliance, is to help make BIM business as usual.

With two days full of free content about information management using BIM on offer, there’s something to cater for everyone – whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned BIM pro, there’s a session for you. The programme features 48-plus speakers from around the built environment, sharing insights from their BIM journeys to help you with yours.

5. Get Main Stage access

This year, for the first time at DCW, the Main Stage will be entirely open and free for everyone to access. So, you’ll have the chance to grab a front-row seat and enjoy even more unmissable content delivered by thought leaders at the forefront of digital construction.

The Main Stage features two days of must-see content carefully curated with the help of theatre partners the Construction Innovation Hub and the Centre for Digital Built Britain. You can expect a host of exclusive speakers and panel sessions focusing on digitalising the built environment.
