Shaping a Digital World

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) will host its popular BIM event on the 13 October, with leading experts providing insight into Shaping a Digital World

The seventh ICE BIM conference will examine how to change not only the tools we are using, but also our fundamental approach to the assets we build, maintain and operate.

Since 2011 the construction industry has been digitally transforming itself, driven by the BIM Level 2 Government mandate.

ICE has been at the forefront of this effort, bringing the government and industry into the same room, offering high-value technical knowledge and providing a platform for debate on the key strategic steps to unlock potential.

Among the speakers at this year’s event will be Alex Janzen, executive officer to CEO and UK&Europe OLT, Atkins. Janzen will provide an opportunity for civil engineers to understand the importance of adopting digital technology in line with government strategy and will focus on how the industry can increase productivity.

Speakers include:

  • Majid Al-Kader, Director Customer and Market Insight, Babcock International
  • Teodoro Alvarez-Fadón, Global Head of Innovation, Ferrovial Agroman
  • Chris Bagley, Head of Infrastructure, Knowledge Transfer Network
  • Michael Bartyzel, UK BIM Lead, BuroHappold
