Ben Malone has been appointed as Director for BIM. Technologies; a BIM consultancy working behind the scenes with some of the construction industry’s biggest contractors, consultants and private clients.
Ben graduated from the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology with a BA Architectural Technology/Technician degree and worked as a BIM Consultant before joining BIM. Technologies in 2012. Since then he has played a key role in developing new business and ensuring that client expectations are met.
Working with clients such as Google, Galliford Try and BAM, Ben’s appointment as Director will see him managing the BIM. Technologies team in addition to his previous and continuing ambitions of business development. He will ensure that the company goals to provide strategic advice, draft BIM protocols, BIM Execution Plans and advice on technology and software implementation continue and excel.
Ben said; “This appointment is a natural progression of the work I’ve long been involved in at BIM. Technologies and I’m delighted to be at the helm and continue our involvement with some of the most exciting and influential construction projects throughout the UK and beyond.”
BIM. Technologies use the latest model-based technology to solve complex problems in construction by streamlining processes, they are able to work hands-on at project level as a BIM Coordinator throughout the design and construction of projects, ensuring that the as-built model can be utilised to its maximum potential.
Ben explained; “We understand that the industry is constantly evolving, and as such, we need to ensure that our business is evolving with the trends and keeping ahead of the pack.
“We are in a very fortunate position, in that we are working on some of the UK’s most innovative projects, which allows us to work with, and for, some fantastic people who are at the forefront of digital construction and future thinking.
“Working in this field and with our clients is very exciting and interesting. Being able to deliver and exceed on client’s expectations is for me the most satisfying part of the role.”
As the leading BIM consultancy in the UK, BIM. Technologies also provide training and support to a wide range of clients who are taking the initiative to learn about digital construction and upcoming digital trends.
Complying with British Standards and ISOs for working towards BIM Level 2 is always the basis when discussing requirements with a client. However, these standards often don’t fully cover the requirements or aspirations of the client team, so BIM. Technologies take a different route, creating a bespoke set of requirements which are aligned to existing and upcoming systems that the client team are using.
And in the true spirit of BIM, their training is not just about how to operate the software but also about the BIM mindset and thinking, focussing on collaboration to deliver successful project outcomes.
Ben said that; “I look forward to seeing where the industry will be in 5 and 10 years’ time, and ensuring that the business is leading the way when it comes to new technologies and thinking around construction. There are some fantastic opportunities for growth and moving into new areas of work while continuing to work with the clients and projects which we are already involved with to date.”
