The founders of structural defects warranty specialist Advantage Home Construction Insurance (AHCI) have invested in a rebrand and new website launch this summer, following the business’s rapid growth

Advantage Home Construction Insurance (AHCI) was founded in 2014, with a team of six working from a single site in Warrington. Today the company has offices at key locations throughout the UK and in June, Advantage’s directors announced the opening of their latest office in Northern Ireland.

The team at Advantage works with leading developers and rated insurers. The company is also part of Trading Standards’ Consumer Codes Approval Scheme, meaning that they have a “proven commitment to honest business and higher customer standards”.

Advantage Home Construction Insurance has grown into one of the most trusted providers of structural warranties

Sales director David Sumner said: “Thanks to the hard work of our team, Advantage has grown from a small independent business to one of the most trusted providers of structural warranties. Today we employ 53 people and have offices in key locations throughout the UK.

“And this is not the extent of our ambition for the business. We’ve invested in a rebrand and a new website design and we are continuing our recruitment drive. This is all part of our investment in the long-term growth of the business.”

David added: “We’re really proud to have members of staff who helped us launch the business almost a decade ago still working for us and also to have welcomed so many new members of the team in recent years.

“We know from our clients’ feedback that our commitment to customer service is one of the things that sets us apart from the competition, and we couldn’t have achieved the phenomenal growth that we have as a business without the ongoing commitment of our dedicated and hardworking team.”

Working with the CTSI Consumer Codes Approval Scheme to offer clients a new level of customer protection

Advantage specialises in providing structural defects and commercial insurance to a value of up to £50m – as well as sewer and performance bonds to property developers, building contractors, Housing Associations and self-builders.

Underwritten by industry-leading rated insurers, Advantage is a CTSI code sponsor, having completed the rigorous CTSI Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS) process, offering a new level of customer protection and trade accreditation, giving added peace of mind to clients. The company has provided cover for a broad range of residential and commercial schemes – from individual houses to large-scale developments.

Renowned for their fast turnaround times and highly competitive quotes, Advantage offers each client a dedicated relationship manager, ensuring a tailored and efficient experience.

Advantage has chosen creative agency Essential Studio to oversee the company’s rebrand and Richard Singleton, who is one of the agency’s founders, said he was excited to have the opportunity to play a part in the next phase of the business’s growth, adding: “We’ve been working very closely with the team at Advantage on the rebrand, creating a fresh new look for their website, digital assets and marketing materials and we’re looking forward to continuing to work on the company’s marketing strategy, supporting Advantage’s directors in their long-term plans for the growth of the business.”

In addition to Advantage’s rebrand this summer, the company will also be announcing some key partnerships, enabling them to enhance the range of services they offer to their clients.

The company is also celebrating the growth of its technical team, enabling them to provide both technical and site support throughout the duration of the design and build process at sites throughout the UK.

AHCI set their sights on the Northern Ireland market

They have also set their sights on the Northern Ireland market, with the support of Advantage’s Northern Ireland regional manager, Alastair Clements, who said: “I started working in the Northern Ireland property sector in 2003 as a residential estate agent. Then in 2010, I co-founded a residential estate agents in Belfast, where I was the managing partner. By 2014, I had acquired two other agencies and expanded to three new offices between Belfast and North Down. I sold my ownership of the agency in 2018 to specialise in structural warranties.

“In 2021, I joined Advantage – a company that’s filling a gap in the Northern Ireland latent defects market with the range of products and finance options they can offer – some of these services were previously unavailable to the Northern Ireland construction industry.”

With their expansion into new territories, substantial investment in their rebrand, new partnership announcements and an ongoing recruitment drive, the next quarter looks set to be a productive one for the team at Advantage.

Do you need a structural warranty?

Structural warranties provide cover if a structural defect is detected within 10-12 years of your project being completed, and if you own a new build home which is not already covered by a suitable structural warranty, you will need one in order to sell the property. If you’re thinking about converting a property for residential use, then you will also need to consider structural defects insurance. Every conversion requires latent defects insurance to protect you and your newly renovated property.
