Using the Everton Football Stadium project as a testing ground, the team developed a solution that automates the creation and validation of fire seals, reducing manual errors and enhancing compliance. This digital strategy leverages existing technology to streamline processes and ensure fire safety solutions are fit for purpose.

The complexity of fire stopping was addressed through automation, creating tools that manage the myriad of design constraints associated with fire seals. These constraints include the size and positioning of openings, the types of services passing through, and the performance requirements of the fire seals. By developing a comprehensive matrix of these constraints, the team was able to automate the design process, ensuring that all fire seals met the necessary standards and were correctly installed.

Despite initial reluctance from some consultants and contractors to participate in a collaborative steering group, the project has demonstrated the power of working together to solve complex problems.

The success of this project serves as a case study for the industry, showing how collaboration can lead to significant improvements in design standards and installation practices.
