The construction industry is constantly evolving and finding new ways to drive innovation and efficiency. Modular construction is a booming sector, posing a variety of real-world applications across residential, health and other public serving facilities.
A letter from the Board Chair, Stephen Shang:
Dear members and colleagues,
WORLD OF MODULAR IS MORE THAN A CONFERENCE AND TRADESHOW. It’s the industry’s annual checkpoint. It’s a moment to step back and ask what’s working, what’s changing, and what needs to happen next for modular to keep earning trust at scale. In 2026, that role matters more than ever.
From April 20–23, 2026, World of Modular returns to Las Vegas at the Bellagio Resort & Casino. This event brings together the people who move modular forward in the real world: developers, owners, manufacturers, contractors, architects, engineers, code officials, suppliers, and investors. For more than 40 years, MBI has convened the industry to network, exchange ideas, showcase new products, and recognize excellence—and World of Modular remains the best place to do just that.
Here’s why this year’s event is so important to the global modular construction industry at-large: modular is no longer “emerging.” It’s being judged as a mainstream delivery method, project by project. That means we have to get sharper about execution, repeatability, quality, and collaboration across the entire value chain. World of Modular accelerates that progress by putting lessons learned, best practices, and new solutions in the same room—so the next project benefits from the last one.
World of Modular is also central to the Modular Building Institute’s mission. MBI exists to expand the use of offsite and modular construction through outreach and education, recognition of high-quality modular work, and industry-advancing initiatives. The event strengthens that work by growing our network, elevating credible modular voices, and fueling the momentum behind year-round efforts like advocacy and outreach to key stakeholders.
If you’re reading this, I encourage you to do two things:
- Attend the 2026 World of Modular. Bring your team. Show up ready to learn, compare notes, and build partnerships.
- Share the event with your non-member peers. World of Modular is an open forum for anyone interested in commercial modular construction, MBI member or not.
The industry advances faster when more decision-makers participate. Let’s make 2026 the year we raise the bar—together.
