Re-flow participates in Movember to raise awareness for men’s health

Re-flow, provider of award-winning field management software for construction, highways, civil engineering, rail and landscaping, is doing its part for men’s health this November by participating in Movember

The Re-flow team aims to raise £500 by the end of the month, as well as raising awareness for the disproportionate number of men losing their lives to suicide within the industries they serve.

Re-flow understands how crucial community is to the industries they serve

Over the years, the Re-flow team has had the pleasure of working with hundreds of businesses, big and small, full of talented professionals from all walks of life. One of the key tenets of the software’s development, as well as the company’s approach, is being guided by the needs of the industry and its workers. Since their establishment in 2018, the team has come to understand just how crucial community is to the industries they serve.

From the very first interaction, Re-flow builds a relationship with its clients. From a demo, through to onboarding and beyond. The team carries a strong commitment to maintaining strong connections within their industries. Be that through showcasing the work of their clients in community spotlights and case studies or touching base in person at industry events.

The industry is disproportionately affected by men losing their lives to suicide

That’s why the Re-flow team finds it so important to also shine a light on the struggles within these industries. The sectors they operate in are disproportionately affected by men struggling with poor mental health and losing their lives to suicide. In the construction sector alone, 29 out of 1,000 men lose their life to suicide every year – almost twice the national average.

Earlier this year, Re-flow collaborated with PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide in a 4-week, 400-mile run completed by Managing Director, Mike Saunders. His incredible achievement ultimately raised £4,100 for the charity.

Movember is one of the world’s leading men’s health charities

Now, the team turn their sights towards Movember. Movember is one of the world’s leading men’s health charities, focusing on bringing awareness to the crisis facing many men across the globe.

On average, men will die 5 years earlier than women.

Around 10.8 million men are currently facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer types among young men, and, on average, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides.

This time around – the challenge is simple. Ashley Wing, Michael Saunders, Josh Sims, Jon Pittock and Graham Pardoe from the Re-flow team are naming and growing out their moustaches, raising money for a good cause in the process.

Throughout the month, they’ll be updating their progress on the company website and social media, as well as sharing content on how industry professionals can better maintain their mental health or help a colleague, friend or loved one in need.
