OW Scaffolding has received a fine for failing to implement efficient safety measures. The firm was brought to task following a routine inspection, which found a number of issues.

The case, which was brought before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court, outlined the problems seen at a site in Heol y Parc, Cefneithin where OW Scaffolding Ltd was working.

An investigation carried out by the Health and Safety Executive on 30 September 2015 found poor planning, inadequate risk assessments, and inadequate site supervision at the job site. Furthermore, the inspector found insufficient equipment for the tasks being carried out.

OW Scaffolding Limited pleaded not guilty to breaching Regulation 4 of the Work at Height Regulation 2005. However, the firm was tried in its absence and found guilty. Fines of £1,000 plus costs of £3,700 were levied against company.
