BAM Nuttall appoints Richard Prime as major projects MD

Richard Prime has been appointed as the new managing director of major projects at BAM Nuttall

The executive board of Royal BAM Group has promoted Richard Prime to the position of managing director of major projects at BAM Nuttall.

Richard Prime has established a 20-year career with the company, and will now lead BAM Nuttall’s teams, working alongside some of the UK’s most sustainable and significant infrastructure projects.

Prime was previously divisional director of major projects.

He will head up BAM Nuttall’s teams to design and build infrastructure projects like HS2 main works and the Silvertown Tunnel in London.

As of 18 October 2021, the management of BAM Nuttall will consist of: Ian Parish (managing director), Martin Bellamy (managing director of regions), Alan Cox (managing director of transport), Richard Prime, (managing director of major projects), Ian Phillpot (finance director), Richard Reddell (commercial director), Richard Lewis (people and performance director) and David McGowan (business excellence director).

In September, BAM Nuttall’s managing director, Adrian Savory stepped down after 26 years with the company. Ian Parish was appointed interim managing director.

Current projects

BAM Nuttall was appointed to deliver the detailed design and advance work on the £118m Cross Tay Link Road project in September.

The company has been appointed to stage one of the project which is expected to last up to one year – with stage two (construction) due to start afterwards.

In August, the contractor secured a contract to carry out the relocation of Guildford sewage treatment works.

Working in partnership with Doosan Enpure, BAM Nuttall will design, construct, and commission a new sewage treatment works in the town to replace the existing 60-year-old site.
