WYG appoints Alan Houghton as director of planning and advisory services

WYG has named Alan Houghton as director of planning and advisory services for the North West

Houghton has a wealth of public and private sector experience, having managed large and complex public-private partnerships, in addition to acting on strategic development and spatial planning in the North West and Midlands.

He joins WYG from Aecom, where he was a regional director leading the company’s Manchester-based planning and regeneration team. His other previous role include acting as project director for major planning, infrastructure, masterplanning and regeneration projects at Scott Wilson Group.

In his new role, Houghton will lead WYG’s North West planning team covering Manchester and Cumbria.

Simon Chadwick, WYG’s head of planning for the North, said:
