Naismiths have acquired a new managing director in Ben Harwood; PermaGroup picks up new group sales manager and Lovell Partnerships builds its North East business with three new recruits

A bevy of appointments have been announced in construction, as Ben Harwood has risen to the role of managing director at Naismiths; Lovell Partnerships has filled three senior postings in the North East and Permagroup brings Holly Bramwell to the team.

Ben Harwood played a key role in the buyout of Naismiths

As real estate consultancy Naismiths celebrates its 60th birthday, Ben Harwood has been appointed as the new managing director.

Chartered accountant Ben joined Naismiths in 2017 and has 17 years of experience in finance roles.

Ben facilitated the buyout of the business and has since led the restructuring and advisory team, giving him key insight into the road ahead for the business.

Using data to drive project monitoring and development

Ben said: “The consultancy continues to grow from strength to strength and I see our bright future being intrinsically tied to our sixty years of experience, with the company celebrating this 60-year milestone in 2023. My ambition is to drive the company forward, focusing on evolving our data-led approach, while maintaining our reputation as trusted advisors across project monitoring, building consultancy and restructuring and advisory.

“Data really is king when forecasting future projects, so as part of our continued growth, Naismiths is working on delivering greater access to our leading property development information. By fully understanding the key metrics and risk factors, we can use our data to assist property developers, lenders, and other stakeholders to appraise and monitor projects more effectively.”

Holly Bramwell joins PermaGroup in the newly created role of group sales manager

Holly joins PermaGroup as the business makes a concerted effort to expand into new markets.

Over the last fifteen years she has honed her expertise in the sale of building products such as pitched roofs, windows and doors.

Holly said: “Taking on a new position at such a well-known company is really exciting, and I’m looking forward to shaping the role as I get settled in.

“One of the reasons I was eager to join PermaGroup was to play a part in the HR side of the team too. I won’t only be overseeing the sales targets, strategy and customer service, I’ll also be looking at how we can add to the team with talented sales representatives across the country.”

Holly will build the sales team to support PermaGroup’s new ventures

Adrian Buttress, managing director of PermaGroup, said: “Holly has a natural ability to guide and support sales teams and we’re really pleased to have her on board in a role that will utilise her key strengths.

“We will be looking to appoint several new salespeople within our organisation this year and Holly’s support will be instrumental to this.”

Three new recruits boost Lovell’s North East presence

Brian Smith, Tom Wilson and Christopher Cane have joined Lovell’s team as senior estimator, design coordinator and site manager, respectively.

In his new role as site manager, Christopher Cane will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site and its construction work, as well as looking at the quality, health and safety of work carried out on site.

Meanwhile Brian, who has spent nearly four decades in the property sector, will be responsible for looking after the tenders for new building work across Lovell Partnerships’ North East sites.

He said: “Having worked in the industry for so many years, I’d heard a lot of great things about Lovell’s reputation, so it’s fantastic to be joining the team, especially at a time when they’re going through an exciting period of growth.

“The North East region is burgeoning with so many opportunities and flourishing communities, and I’m really looking forward to playing a part in supporting Lovell as it continues its expansion across the region.”

“The North East team already have a number of exciting sites and developments secured across the region, and I’m looking forward to drawing on my years working within the architecture world to support the team’s ambitious plans for the coming years.”
