WSP appoints two directors to lead on urban regeneration

WSP has appointed two directors from Stantec to its property & buildings business to lead the firm’s multi-disciplinary urban regeneration work

Rahul Patalia joins WSP as director and urban regeneration lead within building structures, and Stuart McDougall joins as director within the firm’s building services specialism.

Patalia was the national urban regeneration sector lead at Stantec having previously been an equity partner of Peter Brett Associates. He has worked on some of London’s largest regeneration programmes and is a chartered structural engineer with over 25 years of experience in the industry.

At WSP, Patalia will support the business in augmenting its capability in the urban regeneration sector, focusing on the renewal of London’s public-sector-owned brownfield assets.

WSP aims to deliver net zero carbon buildings

McDougall will support the design and delivery of net zero carbon buildings, bringing his skills in passive design and low energy net zero carbon master planning to WSP.

He led the UK building services and energy engineering group at Stantec and was also an Equity Partner of Peter Brett Associates – until its acquisition by Stantec in 2018.Stuart McDougall

McDougall has contributed to notable low-carbon and Modern Methods of Construction design competitions in the past; as such he will support WSP’s urban regeneration offering.

WSP embarks on an increasing number of urban regeneration projects

Support the design and delivery of affordable housing in London
