Housebuilder Lovell Partnerships has been appointed to deliver 130 new council homes in Bestwood, Nottingham
Planning permission to build up to 130 council homes in Bestwood was granted last year.
The homes, which consist of two and three-bedroom houses, bungalows and flats will be built on land off Beckhampton Road.
Following a tender process, Lovell Partnerships has been awarded the contract for one of the biggest ‘Building a Better Nottingham’ developments in the city.
Once built, they will be owned by Nottingham City Council and managed on their behalf by Nottingham City Homes.
The homes will be let to households on the city’s council house waiting list at affordable rents.

Councillor Linda Woodings, portfolio holder for planning, housing and heritage at Nottingham City Council, said: “Nottingham needs a mix of all different types of housing, from homes for families, flats for couples and single people, to bungalows.
“Working with Nottingham City Homes and partners, we’ve been transforming unused sites like the one in Bestwood into new council homes for affordable rent for those people most in need.
“Building social homes, not only helps to address Nottingham’s housing need, but also encourages investment, creates jobs and helps to support local supply chain businesses which will be increasingly important as the city recovers from Covid-19.”
Nick Murphy, chief executive at Nottingham City Homes, commented: “The Beckhampton development gives NCH and the Council a great opportunity to provide much needed council homes for local people in Bestwood, and I am delighted that we have appointed Lovell Homes as our construction partner for the development.
“They will help use to not only create safe, warm and modern homes for the area, but they will work with us to transform the green and open space as part of the development which the whole community can enjoy.”
