Lancaster village receives planning consent

A new project to construct 50 properties in a village near Lancaster has gained outline planning consent…

Harrison Pitt Architects has negotiated a deal to sell 4.4 acres in Galgate on behalf of the landowner to housebuilding company Persimmon Homes. The site, which is known as Launds Fields to the builder, will consist of 50 new properties.

The location was previously occupied by storage buildings, a licensed caravan site, and amenity block and was predominantly classed as greenfield.

Permission is looking to build 35 homes for private sale and 15 affordable properties. A mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes will be constructed.

Director of Harrison Pitt Architects Richard Wooldridge said: “We’ve worked very closely with the landowner to deliver a solution that enables them to unlock the value in the site and allow much-needed new housing to be built in an area where there is high demand.

“This project further demonstrates our expertise in gaining planning permission for new homes on behalf of landowners by taking a partnership approach.”
