Local contractors, builders, and suppliers have been called upon to tender for work on a new housing development in Nottingham…

Housing and construction specialist Keepmoat is hosting an event aimed at bringing together contractors, builders, and suppliers in Nottingham to deliver a multi-million pounding housing scheme.

The development, which will be located at the old Gedling Colliery, will see 1,050 new homes built on the 33-hectare site at Chase Farm.

The ‘meet the developer’ event will be held on 4 July at the Gedling Civic Centre between 07:30am and 11:00am, and will give local firms the opportunity to tender for work on the project.

Also in attendance will be the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and New College Nottingham, as a number of employment and training opportunities will also be available.

Keepmoat’s Community Engagement and Investment Manager Charlene Withall said: “There is a well-documented skills crisis in the construction industry and Keepmoat as a business is passionate about working with local schools and colleges to maximise interest in the field and provide young people with employment and training opportunities.

“This event also highlights Keepmoat’s on-going commitment to use local companies and labour. It is also an opportunity for local companies to network and make new contacts, and find out about upcoming contracts and opportunities with Keepmoat.”

During the first phase of development 315 two-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom family homes will be built. This will create a new community, linked by green corridors to existing residential areas.

The land at Chase Farm was earmarked as a site suitable for housing development and will help to meet Gedling Council’s housing target of delivering 7,250 new homes by 2028.
