In a deal worth £4.5m, GAP Hire Solutions has purchased over 100 new telehandlers…

Plant equipment rental company GAP Hire Solutions has placed an order for more than 100 new telehandlers in a multimillion pound deal.

The order, which was shared between JCB and Manitou, will see the firm’s current stock expand significantly.

The UK-based rental firm now boasts a fleet comprising of four metre/two tonne ultra-compact JCB models, up to the 18 metre/four tonne Manitou MT1840.

GAP’s Head of Procurement Ken Stewart said: “Up until very recently our fleet holding of telehandlers was relatively small, both in terms of numbers and sizes available.

“As a result, we relied heavily on our re-hire partners to fulfil our overall hire requirements. The new holding of telehandlers means we can supply our customers quickly with brand new equipment straight from our depots.

“We are lucky enough to enjoy great working relationships with our suppliers,” he added.

“Product availability from JCB and Manitou has been excellent which has allowed us to respond rapidly to customer requirements.

“We have a number of customers who have specified the Manitou products as they offer sizes which are currently unavailable elsewhere, in particular the MT1840 which can lift 4 tonnes and reach 18 metres.

“The new JCB model 525-60 has also been well received by both depots and customers and we look forward to continuing our long term and excellent working relationship with both companies”.
