Costain has appointed former Mace operations director, Ann-Marie Morrison as its new Network Rail client director

Ann-Marie Morrison will work collaboratively with Network Rail to plan and deliver complex programmes that are more effective, efficient and create opportunities for local communities.

She has extensive experience supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects and building strong relationships which create a culture of success.

‘Encouraging and embracing diversity’

Sue Kershaw, managing director of transportation at Costain, said: “Ann-Marie is a great fit for Costain. She is accomplished at mobilising diverse teams behind a common goal to maximise impact throughout the lifecycle of a project, from navigating the consents for the A14 to taking a leadership role in the Euston station redevelopment team and maximising the social value of the London 2012 Olympics.”

Ann-Marie Morrison, commented: “There were two things that really attracted me to Costain. I found the blend of digital expertise, consultancy capability and complex programme delivery provided a compelling way of enabling faster, better, greener, and more cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

“I was also struck by how diverse and inclusive Costain is – over 50% of the executive board is female.

“Encouraging and embracing diversity of thought and providing an environment in which different ways of resolving challenges are nurtured is essential if we are to provide the best service to our clients.”

Kershaw added: “Ann-Marie began her career developing BTEC qualifications and led the development of software for educational projects before moving into engineering, where her technical specialism was social value.

“She’s a great example of the range of interesting and fulfilling careers available in our industry.”
