Advantage Home Construction Insurance, a leading provider of structural warranties, has announced that they will be opening two new offices to position the company for further growth in 2023

Advantage, which was founded in 2014, has established itself as a leading provider of structural warranties and has also gained a strong reputation for offering associated construction-related insurance.

SWJ Consulting named Advantage as one of the top providers of structural warranties, highlighting the fact that the company also offers specialist cover, such as retrospective insurance, which they say: “Should not be underestimated in importance, as when it comes to selling a recently built home without (this), it’s nearly impossible.”

Offering “the highest level of customer service and protection”

They add: “Advantage Home Construction Insurance is a fully approved (code) sponsor after completing the CTSI Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS) process, offering a new level of customer protection and trade accreditation for customers. This gives homeowners the reassurance that they will receive the highest level of customer service and protection on the construction insurance required on all new build properties.”

The company was named Best Structural Defects Warranty & Insurance Company 2022 by SME News and has previously been named as the Insurance Business of the Year at the Downtown in Business Awards.

As Advantage’s directors have a background in property developing, they have been determined to offer their clients the level of service they would have wanted in the past when securing cover for their own projects. This industry knowledge and understanding of their customers’ needs has won the business a host of high-profile clients – from leading developers to housing associations, architects, and individual housebuilders.

“Clients love the service Advantage provides”

In an interview for PBC Today, Kenny McNaughton, managing director at Studio RBA, explained how he began working with Advantage, saying: “We were introduced through a client that had used Advantage and could not speak highly enough of them. We had a meeting with directors David Sumner and Keith Gannon, who explained their ethos of being ultra-proactive and responsive, which echoes our own. After that, we put them forward to our clients and the relationship has blossomed. Clients love the service Advantage provides and they more than live up to their ethos. That level of service reflects in our own and enhances our reputation with our clients.”

Advantage’s directors listen closely to their clients’ feedback and sales director David Sumner said: “As the company grows, we still make sure we read every review and take on board all of our clients’ feedback. I’ll often hear from happy clients who want to thank members of our team who’ve gone above and beyond to make securing the cover they need for their project as straightforward and stress free as possible. We couldn’t have achieved as much as we have as a business without the dedication of our team and their commitment to delivering for their clients.”

Advantage also offers road and sewer bonds, performance bonds and developer finance

Advantage works with rated insurers and offers clients cover for a variety of new and completed construction projects and conversions. The company also provides road and sewer bonds, performance bonds and developer finance.

The company’s directors continued to invest heavily in Advantage throughout the pandemic in a move which they say has helped to spur the company’s growth. This strategy was noted by Insurance Business magazine, which stated in 2020 “the Covid-19 pandemic may have taken its toll on most businesses, but one is standing up strong” in a feature looking at Advantage’s sales success during challenging times for the insurance market as a whole.

Advantage has offices in key locations throughout England and has recently opened a new Belfast office. They will be sharing the details of their new office openings later this month and David Sumner said: “One of our strengths as a business is that our clients can deal with one relationship manager from start to finish.

“This means that they benefit from a personal service that is tailored to their needs – and
can avoid wasting time on the phone. Our clients tell us that they appreciate dealing with a company that has regional offices, so we can provide a friendly local service.

“Also, as we’re an established provider of structural warranties, we can give our clients the peace of mind that comes from dealing with a larger company with a proven track record in their sector, alongside the benefits of having a local contact with key regional knowledge.”

Do you need a structural warranty?

Structural warranties provide cover if a structural defect is detected within 10-12 years of your project being completed, and if you own a new build home which is not already covered by a suitable structural warranty, you will need one in order to sell the property. If you’re thinking about converting a property for residential use, you will also need to consider structural defects insurance. Every conversion requires latent defects insurance to protect you and your newly renovated property.
