The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) start-up Snaptrude, has secured $14m in Series A funding from Foundamental and Accel

Fortius Ventures has also contributed funding, meaning Snaptrude’s total round of funding has reached $21.8m. The AEC start-up will use the money to improve product and engineering teams and to expand its global outreach.

Snaptrude works with leading design file formats and simplifies the transition for new users. The company currently serves over 20,000 users across 30+ countries, including the US, UK, and India, with globally recognized firms among their clientele.

Using AI to improve design

Snaptrude wants to integrate generative AI capabilities into its platform to streamline design processes and improve building quality while reducing time and costs.

The recent funding will support Snaptrude’s efforts to expand its market reach, strengthen global sales and marketing initiatives, and continue developing its modern OS tailored for design-construction workflows.

Improving AEC through collaboration

Snaptrude aims to reshape the design and construction of modern buildings through a software suite focused on collaboration and interoperability. Snaptrude hopes to overcome the limitations of conventional tools such as Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.

By providing a modern design operating system, starting with a browser-based conceptual design tool, Snaptrude can help architects and designers create and modify 3D building plans. This tool integrates data from various sources, offering instant feedback on critical parameters affected by design changes.

“We’re delighted to have the renewed support of our investors Accel and Foundamental. When I set out to build Snaptrude, I wanted to improve the broken and complex construction design journey by creating a seamless, interoperable, cloud-based tool that could support architects and designers to focus more on what they do best instead of grappling with legacy tools,” said Altaf Ganihar, founder and CEO of Snaptrude.

“With over 20,000 users worldwide, we’re making great strides to democratise good design, and this new funding will support us in continuing to build the software and tools to continue transforming the AEC industry for the better,” he concluded.
