Kier Highways

Kier Highways has promoted Louise McMahon to head of strategy and business improvement and Neil Wilson is now head of safety, health, environment and assurance (SHEA)

Louise joined Kier in 2018. Since then, her key achievements include leading cross-partner collaborative programmes, as well as maintaining and growing Kier Highways ISO management systems and accreditations which underpin its strategic ambition.

Louise will be focused on supporting fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide Kier Highways today and where it wants to be in the next 3-5 years.

Louise will continue to develop and strengthen the Kier Highways strategy to ensure it remains aligned to the overall group strategy and the expectations of Kier people, clients and customers.

Since 2019, Neil Wilson has been head of SHEA for Utilities and Highways and is now focused full-time on the Kier Highways business.

Neil has worked at Kier since 2002, leading in SHEA across various areas of the Group and has been instrumental in driving improvements in the health and safety performance in all of these.

Leading and developing the business

Joe Incutti, group managing director at Kier Highways, said: “I’m delighted to welcome both Louise and Neil to the Kier Highways senior leadership team.

“Both roles will provide additional insight to the team as Kier Highways moves forwards.

“As we continue to grow as a business, Louise will be integral to leading and developing the strategy moving forwards.

“This will align us with the wider group strategy and that of our clients.

“The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is, and always will be, of paramount importance. Due to this, we felt it was time for Kier Highways to have its own dedicated SHEA resource and moving forward.

“Neil will not only work with our colleagues and supply chain partners on health, safety and wellbeing, he will also share best practice across our sector to allow us to better understand and eliminate risk in respect of the safety of people on our sites.”

Louise said: “I am both excited and passionate about this opportunity and role on the Kier Highways senior leadership team.

“I am committed to supporting not only the leadership team but working with our internal and external stakeholders to drive positive strategic alignment and growth for our people, business, clients, customers and those communities in which we serve.”

Neil Wilson said: “Safety is our number one priority at Kier – nothing is so important that we cannot take the time to do it safely.

“It is key that we continue to focus on all our colleagues getting home safely at the end of the day, whether they are employed directly for Kier Highways or through our supply chain partners.”
