Richard Matthews is the new chief executive of hyperTunnel, the award-winning technology company that has developed a revolutionary method for tunnelling and underground construction

As previous president & CEO of NDT Global, he brings international experience of managing a global services company, driving sales and delivering customer and shareholder value.

Richard Matthews takes over from hyperTunnel’s co-founders Steve Jordan and Jeremy Hammond, the former joint CEO.

Although Steve and Jordan are moving on to another role – both will continue to support hyperTunnel by utilising their respective engineering and business experience to aid the team.

With more than 30 years international experience in the energy services sector, Richard Matthews has a passion for helping get cutting edge technology available on the market.

He has worked as a technical specialist working on oil, gas and process facilities for 10 years before moving onto robotic inspection where he held a variety of technical, P&L and global sales leadership roles.

In recent years, he was the President & CEO of NDT Global, a high-end pipeline robotics technology business, where he executed the strategic plan and led the sale of the business to PE backed strategic ownership.

He oversaw record year-on-year business performance at NDT Global by growing revenues and doubling EBITDA in 2 years, whilst improving all safety, customer and performance KPIs.
