Pickerings, a provider of modular buildings and portable accommodation, has opened a new 5-acre depot in Kent

The new modular depot is situated at Eurolink Business Park in Sittingbourne which is recognised as one of Kent’s major business areas.

Built on a greenfield site and constructed to a flagship design the new steel frame building represents a multi-million pound investment. Complete with modern features it has the latest energy-saving equipment and consists of a large workshop, offices, canteen and staff training rooms.

Externally the hard landscaped storage facilities provide ample space to store modular buildings, portable accommodation and related products that Pickerings hires to its customers in the South-East. The Kent depot is one of several purpose-built locations that Pickerings is opening across the country.

Pickerings managing director, Neil Moss, said: “We have seen an unprecedented demand from our customers to hire or buy our range of modular buildings and portable accommodation.

“The new Kent depot in Sittingbourne will help continue our growth in the South-East. Our hire fleet of buildings is the newest in our industry and the new site will help us maintain them in first-class condition so our customers receive the highest quality products available.”

The Sittingbourne depot employs 20 full-time employees and uses many suppliers and tradespeople in the area.

Pickerings has eleven depots nationwide providing modular buildings, portable cabins and associated products and services for customers to hire or buy. They operate in many sectors including education, industry & commerce, health and construction.
