Building services engineering trade body the Electrical Contractors’ Association has partnered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme to promote best practice

A new partnership between the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) and the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) has been forged. The two organisations hope to work together to promote best practice in the industry.

This partnership represents the next step in the efforts of both the ECA and CCS to ensure a positive image for construction and improve working practices across the sector.

ECA director of business Paul Reeve said: “The ECA is delighted to link up with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, and we look forward to promoting its ‘Code of Considerate Practice’ across the building services engineering sector.”

Chief executive of the Considerate Constructors Scheme Edward Hardy said: “M&E contractors comprise a significant part of the construction industry and have a very important role to play in contributing to an improved image of the industry.

“We are therefore delighted that the ECA is a Scheme Supporter, to help champion the principles of the Considerate Constructors Scheme to its members.

“We look forward to more contractors registering with this voluntary Scheme, to continually raise standards in line with the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice.”

CCS was founded in 1997 and works to promote a ‘Code of Considerate Practice’, which ensures construction firms engage with local communities to ensure safety in and around building sites.

ECA member-firm also receive a discount on registration with the scheme.
