IKM Consulting acquisition marks GEG Capital Group’s intention to expand into the energy transition market in Scotland and the north of England

GEG Capital Group have acquired a majority stake in Grangemouth-based multidisciplinary consultancy, IKM Consulting Ltd (IKM).

GEG Capital aims to grow it’s engineering and environmental capabilities with the acquisition of the specialist consultancy, which also offers surveying services.

Current chairman Ian Maclachlan recently stepped back from primary duties at IKM, but will remain in an advisory and mentorship capacity for the next couple of years.

IKM has enjoyed infrastructure success with several Scottish projects

Recent projects supported by IKM’s 60-person team across the Grangemouth and Runcorn offices include onshore infrastructure support for the new 882MW Moray West offshore wind farm and working in collaboration with Siemens Mobility and the Scottish Government on decarbonising Scottish railways.

Speaking about becoming part of GEG Capital, IKM managing director, David Taylor, said:
