Kilnbridge wins £17m London City Airport contract

Kilnbridge has been awarded a £17m contract to construct new terminal facilities at London City Airport as part of the City Airport Development Programme

Kilnbridge will complete the civil works for the airport’s new terminal facilities and energy centres across the next three years in the largest contract awarded to a local company as part of the programme so far.

To complete the new terminal facilities project, Kilnbridge will also be utilising its waste management facilities in Rainham and employing new and local talent through its apprenticeship programme.

Managing director Dermot McDermott, said: “As a local business employing local people Kilnbridge are delighted to have been awarded this major expansion project at London City Airport.

“We look forward to being part of the continued regeneration and development within Newham and share London City Airport’s and Newham Council’s vision of providing the local community with a great place to live and work, both during and after completion of this significant expansion plan.”

Peter Adams, chief development officer for London City Airport, added: “Since we embarked on this £500m development programme we made a commitment to ensure the benefits of our growth are felt locally and shared with local businesses wherever possible.”
