Ogilvie Construction has begun construction on a new £30m scheme to provide 283 new flats on Wellheads Road in Dyce for Aberdeen City Council

The Wellheads Road development will comprise of a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom apartments across four buildings, each constructed to a height of five storeys. The new flats are positioned to create linear green open spaces with outdoor seating and two children’s play areas.

The initiative is part of the biggest local authority housebuilding programme in Aberdeen in more than 50 years which aims to deliver an additional 2,000 council homes for the region.

Donald MacDonald, managing director of Ogilvie Construction, said: “We are proud to be working with Aberdeen City Council to deliver new housing that will provide a quality environment for future residents and the local community.

“The new homes will be constructed to the highest quality using modern, sustainable materials.”

Aberdeen City Council co-leader councillor, Jenny Laing, added: “The work at Wellheads Road accelerates our ambitious council housing programme, which is already delivering a raft of new homes.

“Improving the quality of life for residents is fundamental to everything the Council does and the provision of high quality, affordable housing offering a range of tenancies is central to that.

“Our Local Outcome Improvement Plan – shaped with partners – has at its heart place-making and to that end we are committed to creating inclusive new communities where people feel connected and valued.”
