SES Engineering Services (SES), has recently announced its latest multi-million-pound projects to construct of a new stadium and leisure complex in York and a state-of the-art custody suite in Lincoln

SES Engineering Services is one of the UK’s leading engineering specialists which has been asked to work on both projects that have a combined value of over £10 million.

Working with main contractor Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd (Buckingham Group), SES has been appointed to provide a full range of mechanical and electrical services on the ambitious York Stadium Leisure Complex Project.

The 8,000 all-seater stadium situated at Monks Cross on the outskirts of York, will become home to both York City Football Club and York City Knights Rugby League Club once construction completes in late spring 2019.

To achieve a fast-track delivery, the specialist contractor will manufacture 168 modules to cater for the main service routes at its dedicated offsite manufacturing facility, Prism, also based in York.

In Lincoln, SES is imminently due on site with an innovative tri-service, blue light sector facility, under construction for Lincolnshire County Council.

Procured under Scape Group’s national construction framework, Lincolnshire Emergency Services hub will bring together the region’s fire and rescue services, police force and ambulance services in a shared facility.

Steve Joyce, SES’ business director North and Scotland said: “I am delighted to announce our appointment with Buckingham Group Contracting on such a landmark facility for the city of York. This is the first project we will deliver with the contractor and is one which provides us with a great opportunity to demonstrate the extent of our capabilities, as well as our knowledge and understanding of installing sophisticated building services spanning a multi-purpose facility – in this case sport, leisure, health and education.

“I also think it fitting that a firm whose own background is firmly rooted in York should be appointed to the scheme. Once on site our operatives, some of whom will be apprentices, are the very people who will benefit from the facility.

“In Lincoln, I’m delighted to be part of the Willmott Dixon team that has already successfully delivered a number of innovative custody suites, much to the satisfaction of each of the constabularies and local authorities we have worked for.”

The latest blue sector contracts marks the fifth custody suite that SES has constructed alongside Willmott Dixon on behalf of the local authority.

Earlier facilities include those in Sheffield, Barnsley and Blackpool as well as Grimsby, where SES also recently started on site.
