Glider Technology (Glider) has brought EDocuments fully into its business, uniting the two companies under a single brand
As part of the change, the EDocuments name will retire after 25 years, and the EDocuments platform will become Glider Nexus.
The two businesses have been brought together carefully since the acquisition in September 2024, taking the time to combine the strengths of each rather than moving quickly and unsettling the customers and teams who depend on them. The single brand now reflects a business that already works as one.
No changes to worry about for customers
For customers, the only change is the name. Existing accounts, data and day-to-day support remain unchanged, and the same people remain on hand.
EDocuments has spent 25 years making sure structured digital handover and O&M information reaches the people who operate buildings, while Glider has spent the last decade digitising some of the UK’s most complex estates. Bringing them together places that handover expertise alongside information governance and asset management within one team, with a shared focus on Asset Intelligence and the management of building information across the whole lifecycle.
Asset Intelligence is the discipline that ensures the people responsible for buildings can find, trust and act on the information they need to keep them safe, compliant and performing. It covers the whole life of a building, and it is something organisations practise rather than something they buy. Because most buildings in use today were built long before structured information was expected of them, much of the work involves recovering information that was never created, or rebuilding what has fragmented over years of fit-outs and changes of contractor. That work sits alongside getting new projects right from the start.
Glider Nexus is the platform customers use to put that discipline into practice, and it will keep developing in line with what they and the wider industry need from it. Glider is investing in both its capability and its user experience, and over time will bring its products together into a single platform, combining Glider Nexus with functionality from gliderbim.

EDocuments has built a strong reputation over 25 years and there was nothing to be gained from disrupting something that customers rely on simply to get a new name on it sooner. We wanted to understand the best of both businesses first and bring those things together properly.
“What customers have now is one team with a broader set of skills behind it, and a platform we are continuing to invest in. That matters, because the information held in it has to serve a building far longer than any of us will be looking after it.”
Glider Nexus will continue to support organisations responsible for some of the UK’s most complex estates, helping them close what Glider calls the Performance Gap. That is the distance between the information organisations hold about their buildings and the information they can confidently act on.
