In his latest episode of Collaboration Corner, Rhys Lewis is onsite with Lendlease, revisiting a 52 Storey Multi-Million Pound Sky Scraper in central London to talk about the benefits of using Revizto as the project’s primary coordination tool

This episode of Collaboration Corner kicks off with Revizto director Rhys Lewis, who is onsite with Lendlease at 8 Bishopsgate, London.

Lendlease is using Revizto as its primary coordination tool on this exciting yet challenging project and shows Rhys the progress that has been made.

About the project

Lewis firstly meets with Graham Murphy, package manager at Lendlease, who explains how Revizto has helped to reduce program delivery time by weeks: “Right now, we are in the run-up to completion, and there are about four months left until we PC the building.

“We topped out our superstructure three weeks ago. It’s a steel-concrete frame, 52 storeys above ground level. We have about four months left to finish the internal fit-out, which is done about halfway up the building.”

Safety is a priority

Builders’ work is a priority for the team, a significant safety risk that all team members want to get right.

Rhys: “It’s a different dynamic here this time than last year. What value has Revizto brought to you on this project? “

Graham: “Massive amounts of value. The most complicated thing we have on this project is builders’ work and coordinated builders’ work openings. And that’s all related to fire performance and fire stopping, which is a priority. It’s on everyone’s radar. It’s a massive issue of safety which everyone is coming to the table with.

“What Revizto lets us do out in the field is it enables the construction to managers, trade contractors, and so on look at every scale of the project, look at what’s installed to make sure it’s as per the design and as per the coordinated builder’s work.

“It helped us reduce our downtime at the top of the tower, which is a massive benefit.”

Tell us a little about the consulting team and how they engaged earlier in the process to get you where you are right now.

Graham said: “We’ve had excellent engagement from all levels of the project. So even now, we have actual trade contractors on site using Revizto, which is a benefit for us because it means that they know how the tools work and can go off and successfully install their stuff.

“From the design team’s perspective, it’s been beneficial when everyone was doing remote work in a complicated building. Seeing everything in 3D helps everyone understand and comfortably sign off on design to know that we’re happy with its performance.”

Revizto has saved Lendlease time during the coordination process

The team has utilised the stamps feature within Revizto software to assign tasks to the correct work package with all the necessary information pre-populated, saving time during the coordination process.

Using the stamps feature has saved the Lendlease team lots of time during construction; Graham explains, “The quality that the team aspire for is very high. Exceptional level quality tools help us do that.”

“In terms of time saved, you’re looking at days, weeks, maybe months. You’re looking at many weeks saved by just being able to raise issues, assign them, and the team can pick them up and close them out.”

What advice do you have for someone new to Revizto to ensure they get it right from the start?

Graham: “It’s all about how you set up your project and taking the time to understand what your project needs.

Coordination was always going to be a big thing for us – we knew stamps were always something we’d want to focus on, and from what we had at the start compared to what we have now, it has developed slightly with new team members, and more packages have started.

“It enables us to coordinate more closely and quickly with one another. There are opportunities and lessons learned we’ll take from this project and apply to where we go next.”
