Dominvs hires new construction director

Dominvs Group has appointed former Goldman Sachs and Multiplex executive, John Ko as its new construction director

John Ko brings over 25 years of experience managing landmark construction projects in Australia and the UK.

His new role will act as the construction director for large scale construction projects across the group. Ko will be responsible for achieving the group’s business targets of residential and geographical diversification and expansion in 2021 and beyond are met and exceeded.

His know-how in project management, safety and environmental matters will help to deliver projects on time, on budget and within pre-established quality parameters.

John Ko’s work as a development project manager began with his role on the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, where he was responsible for the development and construction of the 6,000 bed Media Village.

Other major projects around this time included the demolition, refurbishment and opening of a 1.1m sq ft mixed-use retail centre in Sydney for Westfield Corporation and the KPMG Office Tower with integrated fit-out in Sydney.

Following a secondment move to the UK with Brookfield Multiplex, John Ko joined the £500m Wembley National Stadium project as the senior project manager. Then as the head of design for the UK business, Ko led the design management of the £570m 1.8m sq ft New South Glasgow Hospital in Scotland and the 70-storey £580m 22 Bishopsgate Tower in London.

He joined Goldman Sachs International in 2015 as the senior project director responsible for the construction delivery of the £250m bespoke 8,000 staff campus in Bangalore, India which achieved 12.5 million safe man-hours, together with LEED Platinum and WELL Gold sustainability ratings.
