Planning and development consultancy Turley announces five appointments to strengthen its growing Northern Ireland operations

Turley announces five appointments following a wave of new projects across the region. Donna Lyle, Nick Salt, Orlaith Keen, Jack Gibson and Michael Jardine have all been given new roles within the planning and developing consultancy in order to grow the operations team.

Donna Lyle and Nick Salt join the 16 strong planning team as senior planners; Orlaith Keen recently joined the firm on a permanent contract as an assistant planner; Jack Gibson has been appointed senior consultant and Michael Jardine as consultant.

What experience do the newcomers bring to Turley?

Nick previously worked at Capita. He brings a wealth of experience in major planning applications to Turley. For example, in a previous role with the Isle of Man Government he advised on the proposed changes to the Isle of Man Government planning legislation.

Donna also has significant expertise in delivering local and major planning applications through the NI planning system. Currently, Donna is the RTPI Young Planner of the Year in NI. She also played a major role in setting up the NI Branch of the Women in Planning network.

Orlaith graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a Distinction in MSc Planning & Development and has since gained work-based study experience with Lacuna Developments. She joined Turley in November 2021.

Jack has a background in policy and campaigning with Law Centre Northern Ireland. He was also previously an account manager for major retail and water infrastructure projects at a leading public affairs agency and therefore has impressive experience in communications and strategy.

Meanwhile Michael has come from Infrastrata, where he was responsible for supporting the company’s external, planning and regulatory communications for its underground natural gas storage facility at Islandmagee and Harland & Wolff sites.

Turley is a growing company

Turley announces five appointments to its Northern Ireland operations in response to the growth that the company has seen over the last 12 months.

This expansion has been made possible by its clients’ focus on the delivery of City Living, healthcare, logistics and infrastructure projects, its portfolio of Housing Association work and the consultancy’s engagement in the new round of council Local Development Plans.

Head of planning Ireland, Michael Gordon has said:

“Donna, Nick, Orlaith, Jack and Michael’s appointments reflect the growth we have experienced in Northern Ireland, which is down to our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach and our reputation for successfully navigating a planning system which is often in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

“Our extended reach means our team of Planning and Strategic Communications specialists work on projects across the island of Ireland from our office locations in Belfast, City of Derry~North West, and Dublin.”
